According to Tinubu, it will be impossible to promote peace and development without security, hence the patriotic commitment of the Armed forces to Nigeria’s unity, stability and progress remains invaluable.
In appreciation of the efforts of fallen heroes to national security, the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, pledged a donation of N500 million naira on behalf of government officials.
President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio on behalf of the National Assembly made a donation of N200 million.
Also, the Chief Defence of Staff, CDS Christopher Musa announced a donation of N50 million on behalf of the service chiefs and the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
In other news, the Minister of Police Affairs, Senator Ibrahim Gaidam, noted on Tuesday that he had observed an absence of information-sharing between law enforcement agencies, a shortfall that he believes hampers their collective effectiveness.
Gaidam pointed out that, instead of working together, each agency often operates independently in these matters, missing opportunities for collaboration that could enhance overall effectiveness.
The Eastern Updates learned that Nigeria’s law enforcement structure includes multiple agencies such as the Nigeria Police Force, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, the Nigerian Immigration Service, Nigerian Customs Service, Federal Road Safety Corps, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, and the Department of State Services, among others.
