The Lawmaker representing Bende North Constituency in Abia State, Dr Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi has stressed the need to attract more foreign investors in his Constituency to harness the rich endowment of renewable energy resources in his area.
Ibekwe Nnamdi made this known yesterday when he visited Canada attend the AfriCanada Energy Summit.
The Eastern Updates reports that during this visit, he said that there was an urgent need for collaboration and increased foreign investments in Bende North, with a focus on harnessing renewable energy resources.

Dr Ibekwe highlighted the critical role of policies and legislation in driving investments in renewable energy.
He stressed that these legal norms are essential for accessibility, contribution, participation, and investment in the growth and development efforts in Abia State, Nigeria.
Drawing attention to the untapped potential of renewable energy in Africa, the lawmaker painted a vivid picture of the abundant solar and wind resources waiting to be harnessed.
He emphasised that, ‘Power Africa’, is not just a slogan, but a vision of progress and prosperity, with the potential to transform the lives of millions in rural communities.
In another report, water tanker drivers in Enugu have been given till April 30 to paint their tankers with government-approved colors by the Enugu State Ministry of Water Resources.
Mr. Felix Nnamani who is the state Commissioner for Water Resources, issued the deadline in a statement on Sunday in Enugu.
In the statement which was made available to The Eastern Updates, he said, “Tanker owners and drivers must colour-coat their tankers with sky blue if they are carrying drinking water or yellow if they are for industrial water.
Mr Nnamani added that the type of water must be boldly written on both sides and at the back of the tanker.
