An appeal has been made by the Anambra State Vigilante Service to the inhabitants of Odumodu Umunya in Oyi Local Government Area of Anambra State, urging them to abandon hotel stays and return to their residences.

Odumodu’s two villages have borne the brunt of ceaseless attacks for an extended period, resulting in a substantial loss of life and the displacement of many, who sought shelter in neighboring areas.

He also pledged to engage the youth of the community, assuring that no criminals would be permitted to enter the twin villages of Odumodu Umunya from this point onward.

He added: ‘Community policing involves giving the police reliable information that will lead to the arrest and prosecution of suspected criminals.’

He stressed the absolute importance of security, asserting that no significant achievements can be made without it.

Lamenting the situation where residents couldn’t sleep securely in the past, the lawmaker, who also chairs the House Committee on Trade and Commerce, pledged his absolute support for the establishment of the security outfit. He vowed to ensure the safety of the community and its assets.
