Mrs. Cordelia Anene who is the mother of late Ogochukwu Anene, the lady that was allegedly killed by her husband, Mr. Wilson Uwaechina, over a loaf of bread, has demanded justice for her.
The Eastern Updates reports that the deceased, an indigene of Umuokpu village, Awka, Anambra State, was married to Uwaechina, who hails from Enugu State.
She was allegedly killed during an altercation over a loaf of bread.
Cordelia demanded justice when she visited the Anambra State Commissioner for Women and Social Welfare, Ify Obinabo, at her office, on Tuesday.
While alleging that her daughter was killed by the husband, the woman explained that the late Ogochukwu was beaten by the husband after he ate the loaf the deceased bought for the kids and when the children wanted to eat, the husband became furious and queried why they would ask him about the bread.

She said that made the husband to pounce on her with mirror and other objects, which left her in a bad condition.
Mrs. Anene disclosed that a few days after the beating, her daughter was hospitalised at the Niger Foundation, Enugu, where she bled internally from the injuries sustained during the beating.
She said, ‘The doctors confirmed this after a series of scan carried out on her and referred us to the Enugu State University Teaching Hospital, Ituku Ozalla.’
She lamented that while all these were happening, the suspect was nowhere to be found.
The bereaved mother said rather than the family getting an autopsy report after Ogochukwu died, the policeman handling the case in Enugu begged them to drop the case.
She called on the Anambra State Government to come to the aid of the family and give her daughter justice.
While reacting, the commissioner, Obinabo, said, ‘Investigation is currently on to ascertain the true cause of death of the late Ogochukwu Anene.’
She urged women in abusive marriages to always speak out and seek help.
Recall that a post online had gone viral alleging that Ogochukwu, popularly known as Ada Àwka, was beaten to death by her husband.
