Hon. Malachy Onyechi, representing Nsukka West State Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, has confidently predicted that the Labour Party (LP) will replicate its success in the 2023 general elections by winning overwhelmingly in the upcoming October 5 Local Government Council election in Nsukka Local Government.
During an interview with our reporter in Nsukka on Tuesday, Hon. Malachy Onyechi asserted that the Labour Party’s councillorship and chairmanship candidates in Nsukka Local Government would repeat their winning performance from the 2023 general elections, defeating their opponents once again.
“In the 2023 general elections, LP won all elective positions in Nsukka LG because of its credible candidates and the confidence people have in the party.
“The same landslide victory will happen again on October 5 Local Government Council election in Enugu State.
“Many more Nigerians now know that only LP leadership can stop hunger and hardship in federal, state, and local government in the country, “he said.
Hon. Malachy Onyechi revealed that the Labour Party had successfully conducted its primary elections, selecting credible and trustworthy candidates to contest in the October 5 local government poll.
According to Hon. Malachy Onyechi, the Labour Party has chosen Chief Enerst Ogwo, a respected and down-to-earth politician from Lejja, Nsukka East, as its Chairmanship candidate for Nsukka Local Government Area, citing his exceptional dedication and grassroots appeal.
“LP believes in justice and fair play that is why we elected a dedicated politician from Nsukka East, this area has been neglected and has not occupied the position of Nsukka LG Council chairman for the past ten years.
“The election of Ogwo as LP standard bearer in Nsukka LG for the forthcoming election has attracted commendations and cheers from both LP and other political party members in Nsukka LG.
