Addressing the upcoming Imo governorship election on November 11th, Sir Tony Ejiogu, the APGA candidate, stressed Owerri Zone’s rightful entitlement to the state’s upcoming Governor.

Sir Tony reiterated his statement while on a campaign tour to Isiala-Mbano Local Government Area on Thursday, October 12.

Acknowledging the significance of the Imo Charter of Equity initiated in 1998 for fostering peace and fairness, Sir Tony expressed dismay at the failure to uphold its principles over the years.

Pointing to the significance of the recent “Egbu Declaration” as a response to the zone’s grievances, Sir Tony urged all democracy supporters, regardless of party alliances, to collaborate with APGA, highlighting his candidacy as the only dependable and proficient option for the state’s revival.

“When we went to Egbu declaration, we made it known that it is the turn of Owerri Zone to produce the next Imo Governor. Orlu has ruled for 20 years. Okigwe Zone four years and Owerri Zone only seven months. For equity and fairness, it is the time of Owerri Zone to produce the next Governor,” he said.

Grateful for the affection and backing of Isiala-Mbano’s people, Mr. Ejiogu guaranteed an administration that would be all-inclusive, fostering development across all zones and promoting equality throughout the state.

He declared: ‘We have the genuine desire to bring about good governance for the betterment of Imo people. Power is now in your hands to change the trajectory of your future and indeed the future of our dear state. Vote for APGA.’

The traditional ruler of the Amato Amaraku community, Eze Joseph Mbamara, who extolled Sir Tony Ejiogu for the visit, also prayed that God who has seen his heart bless his intentions. “God lead you, if it is the will of God for you to be our Governor let it come to pass.”

The community was abuzz with excitement following the APGA candidate’s visit, with many vowing to support and vote for him in the impending election. Chief Tony Ogwuike, a prominent leader in the local government, offered his assurance to the candidate on behalf of the community.

‘When I look at you, I see a man with passion and a real desire to bring about the Imo of our dreams. You have not soiled your hands with dirt, we are wholeheartedly behind you, our prayer is that you succeed,’ he said.

The tour boasted the presence of key figures such as the Imo State APGA Chairman, Chief John Iwuala; Deputy Governorship Candidate, Chief Chris Uche Ejike; Tony Ejiogu’s Campaign Director General, Engr Paul Aballa, and other significant party stalwarts.
