You Are What Nigerians Desire – Peter Obi Praises Akeredolu

In his political tour, Peter Obi who is the Labour Party’s Presidential Candidate has lauded Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the Governor of Ondo State while noting that he actually symbolises what Nigerians desire at the moment.

Peter Obi in his encomiums had also characterised Governor Akeredolu as a leader who always tells the truth, regardless of the repercussions that would be following it.

The LP Presidential candidate had made this statement during a condolence visit which he had made to the governor at the Presidential Lodge, Government House, Alagbaka, Akure.

According to Obi, the governor deserves praise for standing up always for the people, stressing that things are bad in the nation because people chose to remain silent.

“I urge you to continue in that direction. You represent one of those things Nigerians desire, the ability to speak the truth no matter the consequences.

“Arm those special security people. Take every step to protect your people. It is important and it is your duty. I’m happy that you are always speaking out when necessary. May God Almighty continue to be with you and bless all of you.”

Obi offered the Governor his condolences on the passing of his mother, Lady Evangelist Grace Akeredolu, JP, and prayed for God to grant her eternal rest.

In another report, The Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere has provided justified its decision to back the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, for the 2023 elections.

The group’s leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, made its position known at a press conference in Lagos.

Justifying the decision, Adebanjo said the group would not compromise the principle of justice, equity, and inclusiveness because the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is a Yoruba man.
