Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, on Friday disclosed that the ex-President has been discharged from hospital in London.
Shehu said Buhari is in recovery mode following his discharge from the hospital.
Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the former presidential spokesman said Buhari looked better after leaving office than he looked before he became president.
He said: “Buhari has been discharged. It was not as intense as reported. He was hospitalized, and now he is being cared for. He is in a recovery mode.
“Each day, he gets better, but until it’s all over, you can’t say it is over.”
“He looked much better after leaving the office than before he became president. He is 82, he eats healthy, and exercises regularly.
“At the farm in Daura, four times in a week, he does one and a half hours of rigorous walking all around.
“Even in the UK, when he went for a medical check before he fell ill, he flooded the streets.”
Garba Shehu, has also dismissed claims that cabals had hijacked the immediate past administration.
Shehu disclosed that the claims of a cabal in Buhari’s past administration were sheer nonsense.
During Buhari’s administration, reports had it that a group of cabals were the decision-makers and not the former president.
He stressed that Africa’s immediate priority is to confront these existential threats, not to engage in the pursuit of nuclear weapons capability.
“The outcome of any nuclear conflict is never a win-win situation; it is always the opposite. We are fighting poverty; we are fighting a war against the relationship between the economy and ecology in sub-Saharan Africa. We have no business dabbling in anything that has to do with nuclear weapons,” he said.
The Vice President also commended CTBTO for its broader civilian contributions, such as detecting tsunamis and seismic volcanic activity, and for supporting global ecological stability.
