Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State has stressed the important function of the judiciary in the ongoing struggle against insecurity, asserting that delays in prosecuting offenders allow criminal elements to thrive.
He advocated for reforms aimed at expediting legal proceedings, suggesting that prompt justice is critical to reinforcing the rule of law and enhancing public safety.
While presiding over the swearing-in ceremony for Justice Jafaaru Zubairu at the Council Chamber of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House, Governor Uba Sani highlighted the necessity for a robust judicial response in the fight against insecurity in Kaduna State.
He urged prosecutorial agencies to prioritize cases involving suspected terrorists and bandits, emphasizing that any delay in prosecution could jeopardize the state’s efforts to defeat criminal elements.
He assured that efforts would be made to upgrade the workplace environment for judicial personnel, thereby bolstering public confidence in the justice system. This commitment includes enhancing citizens’ access to justice and implementing programs for the ongoing education of judicial officers, which will empower them to perform their roles more effectively.
“I am committed to enhancing a cordial working relationship with the judicial arm of the government,” the Governor said promising to continue doing “all that is necessary in promoting, projecting and ensuring that our justice service delivery and indeed the justice sector keeps working in line with the extant provisions of the law.”
The governor committed to his administration’s ongoing dedication to improving the judicial system, stating that he would persist in offering comprehensive support to the judiciary. He noted that such efforts are imperative for the effective and efficient administration of justice, ensuring that legal processes remain accessible and fair for all.
