Soludo Awards ₦2bn Empowerment Grant To 5000 Anambra Youths

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has disbursed ₦2 billion as start-up capital to a minimum of 5000 youths from all 21 local government areas, following the successful completion of training for one individual and two skill development programs introduced by the state government.

These individuals, the pioneer beneficiaries of the program, have been presented with their cheques in Awka following the completion of their training.

Hon. Chuks Azotani, the incumbent chairman of the committee on Information Technology and Creative Economy and the representative for Dunukofia Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, stressed the importance of prudent investment of the start-up capital in the trained skills and businesses, to achieve the scheme’s objectives.

While commending Governor Soludo for spearheading the life-changing program, the lawmaker emphasized its capacity to combat youth unemployment and social turbulence, while nurturing a new generation of self-reliant entrepreneurs and employers in the community.

Azotani said: ‘The positive effects of this programme of 1 youth, 2 skills initiated by the Soludo administration being facilitated by the State Ministry of Youth Development, will foster robust economic impacts in Information, Communication and Technology.’

‘I urge the trained beneficiaries of this landmark programme to apply the skills and knowledge they received effectively. I also implore the beneficiaries to judiciously invest their seed capital efficiently to become successful business owners and employers of labour in the state’.

Expressing satisfaction, the legislator highlighted the inclusion of around 100 beneficiaries from the Dunukofia local government area in the program’s inaugural phase, providing assurances to the area’s youth about the prospect of additional favorable developments in store for them.

Azotani urged Nigerian youths to participate in meaningful initiatives, emphasizing the importance of engaging in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) ventures.

He also emphasized the Soludo administration’s dedication to implementing more programs aimed at creating platforms for the socio-economic growth of Anambra State.

Moreover, he implored the residents of Anambra to come together and endorse the state government’s initiatives to transform the state into a more prosperous and habitable place.
