Four Men Jailed In Imo For ‘Forceful’ Sodomy

An Owerri magistrate court presided over by Barr Uche Stella Chukwu yesterday ordered four men to be imprisoned after they pleaded guilty to forcefully sodomising three young boys in the state.

The Eastern Updates reports that 37-year-old Chibuzor Peter was alleged to have had unlawful carnal knowledge of three boys aged 18 and 19 years using force, threats and intimidation.

He was sentenced to seven years for conspiring with three others; Sunday, Chimezie and Oparaugo to sodomise the three boys forcefully.

The magistrate held that they committed an offence contrary to unnatural offense in violation of section 516 of the criminal code.

They were sentenced seven years for violation of section 214 of the criminal code of the state. they pleaded guilty to charge(s).

However, while Peter bagged 14  years in jail, his partners bagged seven years with an option of a fine of N500,000 each.

The magistrate ordered that the sentence should run concurrently. They have been transferred to the Owerri Correctional Centre.

In another report, some yet-to-be-identified gunmen have attacked the Customs checkpoint at Umuikaa Junction in Isiala Ngwa South Local Government Area of Abia State, along the Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway, The Eastern Updates has gathered. 

This is coming at a time the whereabouts of the Customs personnel is yet to be ascertained. 

The attacked which happened at about 8pm, happened less than one kilometre from the naval base in Owerrinta, few meters away from a naval checkpoint at Umuikaa junction.

It was gathered that the gunmen who burnt the operational patrol van of the Customs personnel, equally shot and injured a passenger in an 18-seater commercial bus which ran into them.
