The police in Anambra State have arrested no fewer than two-armed robbery suspects from Enugu and Ebonyi states who were allegedly robbing people on the Second Niger Bridge in Onitsha.
Unbeknownst to the robbers, the police surveillance patrol team on the bridge was informed of the gang’s actions close to the Obosi end of the bridge. Their goal was to stop vandals from stealing expansion joints.
Some members of the gang, however, fled the scene when the covert Police team swooped on them while two of the gangsters were arrested, according to a press statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, Ikenga Tochukwu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police.
The Eastern Updates reports that incident happened yesterday.
