Popular Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has once again taken to her social media handle to demand the release of the detained the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu.
The vocal thespian who made the call in a post on her official Instagram page also used the medium to call out manipulative elites whom she accused of ‘making use of the children of the poor to cause the ongoing unrest in the south-east region.’
According to Rita Edochie, if Nnamdi Kanu is released by the Federal Government the unrest in the eastern region will cease to exist and will in turn pave the way for peace.

‘That your children are overseas and you are using other people’s children to create unrest.
‘If you are one of them your generation and generation to come will never have peace,’ she wrote.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Imo State and Chairman of the Southeast Governors Forum, Senator Hope Uzodinma on Monday hosted South-East Leaders to discuss and identify issues of concern in the region most notably insecurity.
In his address during the meeting, Governor Uzodinma declared that all Igbo leaders and Stakeholders are on the same page to tackle insecurity in the region.
He pointed out that while security is an exclusive responsibility of the Federal Government with the collaboration of the Governors, major plans were currently underway for the south-east leaders to collectively table the matter before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu whom he believes will give the necessary support.
Speaking earlier, the President of Ohaneze Ndi Igbo Worldwide, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu expressed satisfaction at the success of the meeting as problems of the region were identified and adequately discussed.
