Otti’s Wife Visits Girls Rescued From Baby Factory In Abia

Mrs. Pricilla Otti who is the wife of the Abia State Governor has paid a visit to Madonna College of Health Technology, Olokoro, Umuahia South LGA to see pregnant girls that were rescued from a baby factory in the State over the weekend.

The young girls were rescued from a baby factory in Umunkpeyi Nvosi, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, by personnel from the Nigerian Army’s 14 Brigade Ohafia during a special operation over the weekend.

The Eastern Updates reports that the Army rescued 22 girls during the operation, and it was later determined that 21 of the girls were pregnant at various stages, though the proprietor of the baby factory escaped to an unknown location before the Army squad arrived.

Moved by the plight of the girls, the Abia State First Lady, Pricilla, on Tuesday, paid a visit to Madonna College of Health Technology Olokoro where the girls are being given temporary medical attention.

The Governor’s wife, who expressed sadness at the condition the girls were subjected to, frowned that the operator of the baby factory took advantage of the victims.

She further expressed surprise that such heinous crime was being perpetrated in Abia, but assured that the rescued girls would be rehabilitated.

Mrs. Otti vowed to protect the lives and rights of girls and children in the State.

Welcoming Mrs Otti to the medical facility, the Provost of the College, Rev Fr Christian Anokwuru praised the Abia First Lady for her interest in the rescued girls.

Fr Anokwuru disclosed that the girls were being kept in the maternity section of the College of Health after they were brought there by Abia State government.
