‘Ugwuanyi Will Represent Us Well In The Senate’ – Udi People

The people of Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, have poured encomiums on the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for the emergence of their illustrious son, Engr. Osita Ngwu as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for Enugu West Senatorial District in the 2023 general elections.

The people, who came with their clergy, traditional rulers, different masquerades and cultural dance groups, praised Ugwuanyi for acceding to their yearning to occupy the senatorial seat of Enugu West Senatorial District for the first time in the history of the state.

The people reassured the governor of their maximum support and loyalty to his administration and the PDP, promising that they will deliver the PDP governorship candidate, Peter Mbah and all other candidates of the party in the state, in the forthcoming general elections.  They also expressed delight at the choice of Mr. Ngwu as the Enugu West Senatorial District candidate of the PDP, describing him as a young, intelligent, mature, and unassuming personality, who will bring his wealth of experience in his private and public dealings to bear in providing quality representation to the people of the district, if elected.

Meanwhile, some of the Local Government workers in Enugu State have vowed to down tools and go on an indefinite strike if the Enugu State government fails to implement the minimum wage and consequential adjustment of their salaries and levies latest by Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

The union had also slammed the 6-day ultimatum during a press briefing jointly addressed by the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, and the Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT.

The workers had noted that the findings and recommendations of the committees set up by the government showed that the local government areas had the capacity to pay the minimum wage, urging Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi to prevail on the chairmen to do the needful.
