Enugu State Announces Increase In Waste Evacuation Budget

The Government of Enugu State has announced the approval of an increase in the value of its waste disposal contracts in view of improving cleanliness in the State.

According to a statement released by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Information, Steve Oruruo, on Thursday in Enugu, the move was to ensure optimum hygienic condition of the capital city.

He stated that the increase was also informed by the need to compensate the contractors whose operational costs had skyrocketed because of spike in cost of diesel, vehicle maintenance and labour.

The government however frowned at the declining state of cleanliness of Enugu city and charged the waste evacuation contractors to restore it to its enviable sanitary condition.

It also assured residents that they would soon witness a huge improvement in the cleanliness of the city.

Meanwhile, no fewer than 36 suspected internet fraudsters in Imo State have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The Eastern Updates gathered that operatives of the commission raided several locations in the State on and took the following suspects into custody: Iwuanyanwu Divine, Nwoke Udojah, Patrick Micheal, Chukwu Hillary, Charles Nneji, Nwachukwu Chibueze, Obinna Ajem, Egwu Williams, Samuel Michael, Chukwuma Destiny, Emenalom Precise.

Others were Nwaeze Obinna, Ogbonna Monday, Raymond Chigozie, Mmadu Bright, Chigozie Sixtus, Ike Joachim Uchechukwu, Ifeanyi Uzor, Ike Joseph, Ekperi Ikechukwu, Iwwohen Ikechukwu, Joshua Emmanuel, John Dickson, Madu Sixtus.

The rest included Onyemauche Tochukwu, Chibueze Miracle, Precious Uchenna, Amamasim Bright, Ibeawuchi Obumneke, Ihugba Chikmso, Chima Charles, Christian Mahakwe, Okorie Arinze, Chukwu Kenechukwu, Mahakwe Charles and Chima Fidel.
