2023: Ex-Abia Guber Aspirant, Ikoh Picks APC Senatorial Race

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and former Governorship aspirant from Abia State, Henry Ikoh, has joined the race to make it to the red chambers as he picked the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the All Progressive Congress to vie for the seat of Abia central senatorial district in 2023.

The Eastern Updates had sometime in January 2022 reported that Ikoh had announced his intention to throw his hat into the ring for the office of Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

It would be recalled that the politician had left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ruling APC in early 2021, where he served as a Commissioner for Industry under the first term of the incumbent Governor of the State, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu.

However, while presenting the nomination forms purchased and obtained from the APC national secretariat Abuja, to his teeming supporters in Umuahia on Friday, Ikoh promised responsive and effective representation.

He said that enough has not been done in Abia central senatorial zone, said that the people of Abia central deserve a better representation shrouded on industrialization and wealth creation to improve the socio-economic and Infrastructural development of Abia central.

While speaking during an enlarged meeting with members of his campaign team (Our Destiny Organization) held at country home, Ahuwa Oboro in Ikwuano local government area of the state, during the weekend, Ikoh explained that said he was moved to contest the seat because of his desire to offer quality service to the people of the Abia central senatorial zone, stressing that as Senator, the people would experience the real dividends of democracy.

Ikoh would be banking on his grassroots reach and support to secure victory to the 10th Senate which would be inaugurated in June 2023.
