Senator Chris Ngige, Minister of Labor and Employment, has declared that he has spoken with God, the mortals and immortals, and they are ready to talk. The minister also said that he would announce his presidential bid on Tuesday after concluding meetings with the ultimate being.

Members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, South-East Progressive Forum greeted Ngige at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport Enugu, according to his media office.

The organization is one of several pressing Ngige to run for president.

The former Anambra State Governor told the airport throng he had consulted extensively and now it was his turn.
He recounted receiving a similar appeal in December from APC brothers and non-politicians who traveled to his hometown, Alor, and urged him to run for president.

He said: “Make no mistake about it, the presidency is due to us in the Southern part of Nigeria. It is also truism that of all zones in the South, only the South-East has not tasted the presidency. That gives much weight to the demand you are making.”

The former minister claimed he had consulted with mortal and eternal beings who would now speak.

“ In PDP, they are arguing whether it will be North or South. In our own party, APC, we have already agreed that it is South. I told my supporters when they came on December 31 last year that I will speak after the spiritual season of Lent, to enable me consult my God, angels and archangels. Easter is tomorrow (today). It is the resurrection day. We shall rise with the resurrection and after Easter Monday, I will make a pronouncement on my journey to the presidency.”

Concerning APC hopefuls in the South-East, he said such discussions would occur after the statement of interest and purchase of forms.

He thanked the APC South-East Progressive Forum for welcoming him and hoped God would honour each and every one of them as they had honored him.

Earlier, the group’s spokesperson, Comrade Tony Chime, informed Ngige they went out to beg him to run for president.

Chime stated they had evaluated numerous candidates for president but had not seen the needed stuff.

“We appeal to you, our father, brother and son to please come out and join the race. We know that it is the turn of the South and when it comes down South, we know that it is the turn of the South-East and you are eminently qualified to deliver.”

Ngige subsequently met with Enugu State Governor Rt. Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as part of his national consultations.
