Former President of the Nigerian Senate, Sen. Anyim Pius Anyim has vehemently condemned the the dastardly attack on a Kaduna-bound train on Monday, the 28th of March, 2022. The former Secretary to the Federal Government described it as inhumane . The attack which led to some loss of lives and many injured wasn’t a palatable scene for anyone to witness.

Sen. Anyim, expressed his dismay and sorrow via an officially released statement signed by his spokesman Mr. Ahmed Buhari over the unfortunate loss of lives, and those injured.

Sen. Anyim who is amongst the famous aspirants in the next presidential election in 2023, further, informed the general public that he has cancelled his presidential campaign tour around the country for the meantime to honour the victims.

Part of the statement read, “Sen.  Anyim has cancelled all his political activities and consultation tours for the rest of the week in honour of those who lost their lives and those still being held by the bandits, while praying for the quick recovery of those wounded and comfort for the families that lost loved ones.”

Sen. Anyim enjoins the Security Agencies not to relent in their efforts to rid our country of these criminals and restore the security and peace of our dear country”. And the statement ended with that.

It is important to note that the insecurity in virtually every geopolitical zone of the country is becoming very alarming, and now appears, it can no longer be curtailed by the security agencies. The citizenry are now scared to move about freely. There’s imminent fear of being attacked by unknown gunmen in the South-East, Boko-Haram in the North, Fulani herdsmen hiding in the forests in the South-West, and various warring militant-groups in the South-South.

It would be appropriate and the best interest of the country if her leadership can tackle the insecurity in full measure to ensure that the crisis it has created in the country will not be blown out of proportion.
