Rivers United finished second after a 3-0 home win over Katsina United at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt.

Chijioke Mbaoma bagged a brace for Rivers United, while Aniekeme Okon scored the other goal.

Barcelona have been confirmed as this season’s LaLiga champions, following a comfortable 2-0 win over Real Madrid on Sunday.

Hansi Flick’s men were already 11 points clear of their bitter rivals at kick off.

And they blew Los Blancos away in a sensational opening half at the Camp Nou.

Marcus Rashford opened the scoring with a sublime free-kick, before Ferran Torres fired in a second.

Madrid tried to fight back in the second half, but there were no goals.

The result takes Barcelona up to 91 points and they cannot be caught by Alvaro Arbeloa’s men who stay on 77 points.

It is a 29th title for the Catalans, who successfully defend their title.

Victor Osimhen scored twice as Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor 4-2 to claim a fourth consecutive Turkish Super Lig title on Saturday.

Galatasaray trailed twice in the game but rallied to secure a crucial victory.

Osimhen netted his first goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 66th minute.

The Nigeria international was on target again two minutes from time.

The 27-year-old has so far recorded 15 goals and five assists in 22 league appearances for the Yellow and Reds this season.

Okan Buruk’s side have garnered 77 points from 33 games, with one game remaining this season.

Second-placed Fenerbahçe have 73 points from the same number of matches.

The United States will not exclude Iran from the World Cup tournament it is hosting, Secretary of State Marco Rubio said Thursday, after an official mused about replacing war-battered Iran with Italy, which did not qualify.

“The problem with Iran, it would be not their athletes. It would be some of the other people that we want to bring with them,” Rubio told reporters, denying Washington had asked the Iranian team not to come.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino told AFP Tuesday that Iran “will be at the World Cup” and will play their group matches in the United States as scheduled, despite the Middle East war.

“Iran will be at the World Cup,” Infantino said at half-time of Iran’s friendly against Costa Rica in Turkey.

“That’s why we’re here. We’re delighted because they’re a very, very strong team, I’m very happy.”

“I’ve seen the team, I’ve spoken to the players and the coach, so everything is fine,” added Infantino, whose attendance at Tuesday’s game was unannounced.
