Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has condemned what he described as the unruly and dangerous behaviour of some youths who forced their way into the Government House during the event held to welcome him into the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor spoke during a meeting with APC leaders and senior government officials, where he said the incident was disturbing and unacceptable.
He warned that such actions could damage Kano’s long-standing reputation as a state known for peace, discipline and order.
Reports from the event indicated that hundreds of youths were present inside the Government House premises.
They followed a political figure into the venue, with allegations that some were carrying dangerous weapons while others were openly using hard drugs. Some were also said to have shouted provocative slogans and called for the removal of the deputy governor.
Raising concerns at the meeting, the governor’s Special Adviser, Muhammad Jamu, described the situation as dangerous and unacceptable.
He warned that allowing armed youths to attend political or government events poses a serious threat to public safety and democratic values, adding that such behaviour must not be tolerated.

The All Progressives Congress in Zamfara State has recorded another high profile defection ahead of the 2027 general elections, with the younger brother of the Secretary to the State Government, Bello Nakwada, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party.
The defection was confirmed on Thursday in a statement issued in Gusau by the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Malam Yusuf Idris. He said the move signals a growing shift within the state’s political landscape as preparations for future elections begin to gather momentum.
According to Idris, Nakwada, who is a biological brother to the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, formally announced his decision to abandon the PDP and align with the APC. He noted that the defector was a known supporter and campaign sponsor of Governor Dauda Lawal during the 2023 governorship election.
The APC spokesman also disclosed that a former PDP chairmanship aspirant in Gusau Local Government Area, Hon. Hassan Idris Gusau, had likewise defected to the ruling party.
