Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is “the clear favourite” to take over the France national team.

This was revealed by football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano via his X account on Tuesday.

Romano claimed Zidane has not officially signed any contract out of respect for the current head coach, Didier Deschamps.

“Zinedine Zidane remains the clear favorite to become next France head coach after the World Cup,” Romano wrote.

“Nothing signed as Zizou wants to respect Deschamps who will only leave the job at the end of July.

“Federation also fully focused on WC 2026 but Zizou favorite for next chapter.”

France, who were finalists at the last World Cup, have already booked their spot at next year’s tournament.

A sport commentator, Zeki Uzundurukan, has said that Galatasaray are targeting Nigerian midfielder Raphael Onyedika in the January transfer window.

According to Uzundurukan, Onyedika is a fighter, like his Nigerian teammate Victor Osimhen.

He spoke while discussing Galatasaray’s transfer plans on the Transfer TV YouTube channel.

“Galatasaray’s target is Raphael Onyedika. Galatasaray will make an attempt in January,” Uzundurukan said via Habersarikirmizi.

“He’s a player who can play both at number 6 and number 8. He’s a fighter like Osimhen. He also plays for the Nigerian national team.

“He’s a player Osimhen knows well. He’s been frequently receiving information about Galatasaray from Osimhen. He’s a high-high-priced player, and a loan offer with an option to buy could be on the cards.”
