Wenger Blasts Barcelona’s Immaturity After El Clásico Defeat

Legendary Arsenal manager, Arsène Wenger, has questioned Barcelona’s maturity after they lost 2-1 to Real Madrid in a tense El Clásico clash on Sunday.

Wenger described the match as “men against boys”.

Kylian Mbappé opened the scoring before Fermin López equalised for Barça. Jude Bellingham then tapped home the winner to ensure Madrid moved five points clear at the top of La Liga.

“Xabi Alonso balanced his team well today,” Wenger said on beIN Sports.

“Overall, I would say that it was a bit like men against boys in some departments.

“The defensive performance of Real Madrid was much stronger than the defensive performance of Barcelona.”

Real defender Carvajal appeared to approach Yamal at full time to make some sort of jibe after the Barca winger’s pre-match comments about the La Liga leaders.

Yamal had been in the spotlight in the Spanish capital after joking during an appearance on a social media stream that Real Madrid “steal” and “complain”.

“I like that,” Tchouameni said about Carvajal’s gesture. “At the end of the game, we saw a little bit between the players – it helped us to compete.

“It’s fine. They’re only words; there’s no bad intentions. It made us a little bit more determined and helped us.

“If Lamine wants to talk, that’s no problem. The game is played on the pitch and we won. We’re very happy with our game, and we’re going to look forward.”

Real Madrid’s next game is on Saturday at home against Valencia before a Champions League away to Liverpool three days later.

Barcelona, on the other hand, host Elche on Sunday before playing away to Club Brugge in the Champions League three days later.
