Listen to article

Bolaji Abdullahi, the spokesman for the African Democratic Congress, ADC, has said the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, cannot “take the risk” of returning to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

According to him, Obi is part of the ADC coalition.

Abdullahi stated this on Monday while appearing on Arise TV’s Prime Time.

He was reacting to questions about the PDP wooing Obi to return to the party.

“Let me say clearly, Peter Obi is in the coalition,” Abdullahi said.

“Regardless of what anybody is saying. But it is good to see that it has taken the coming on board of ADC, to get PDP to begin to make some movements.

“But everyone knows the jugular of the PDP is in the hands of the ruling party.

“Peter Obi, more than anyone else, knows that he cannot take the risk of going to the PDP.”

In other news, Coalition-backed African Democratic Congress ADC, on Saturday reiterated its determination to send the President Bola Tinubu administration packing, saying it will match the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, tactic for tactic in the 2027 general election.

ADC said the fact that it does not have serving governors in its fold does it detract from its formidability as a viable platform to sack the Tinubu administration.

Noting that the governors were yet to join the ADC because of the intimidation they would face from the Tinubu administration, the opposition party said Nigerians are angry with the administration and therefore ready to slug it out with the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.
