Nigerian Are Suffering Sor Two Years Without Reward – ADC Scribe

The Senate on Thursday began its annual long recess after adjourning plenary sessions till Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio announced this following the adoption of a motion moved by the Leader of the Red Chamber, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele (APC Ekiti Central) during a brief plenary

Akpabio, however, reminded the lawmakers that they were not embarking on a total holiday, saying they are expected to continue with their oversight functions over various ministries, departments and agencies, MDAs, especially projects being executed in their constituencies across the country.

The Senate President particularly charged all standing and ad hoc committees to make effective use of the two-month break to finalise their assignments in order to ease legislative consideration and adoption upon resumption.

According to him, each committee would be expected to submit a report on its oversight activities to the Senate upon resumption.

Meanwhile, Akpabio urged the senators to attend the burial of the wife of their colleague, Senator Diket Plang, holding on Friday in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

In other news Former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has warned Nigerians against voting for President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

Amaechi warned that Nigerians would be dead and buried if Tinubu wins a second term in 2027.

The former governor spoke while addressing members of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, coalition in Rivers State.

He also lamented that Rivers State is known for rewriting election results.

Amaechi charged members of ADC to stop those responsible for rewriting election results.
