Tinubu Returns To Abuja After Saint Lucia, Brazil Trip

President Bola Tinubu is expected to return to Nigeria on Sunday (today) two weeks after his two-nation visit to Saint Lucia and Brazil.

The President’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga announced this in a post on his official X handle.

The Eastern Updates recalls that Tinubu departed Abuja for Saint Lucia and Brazil on Saturday, June 28, 2025.

The President paid a state visit to Saint Lucia as part of efforts to deepen Nigeria’s engagement with Caribbean nations and strengthen South-South cooperation.

Tinubu on July 4th departed Saint Lucia for Brazil where he attend the 2025 BRICS Summit, held July 6-7, 2025.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari’s spokesman, Garba Shehu, on Friday disclosed that the ex-President has been discharged from hospital in London.

Shehu said Buhari is in recovery mode following his discharge from the hospital.

Featuring on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the former presidential spokesman said Buhari looked better after leaving office than he looked before he became president.

In other news, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has delegated Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima to represent him at the Golden Jubilee celebration of São Tomé and Príncipe’s independence.

Vice President Shettima is scheduled to depart Abuja on Saturday, July 12, for São Tomé, the capital of the Democratic Republic of São Tomé and Príncipe.

The President is currently outside the country, having attended the 17th BRICS Summit in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

According to a statement from the presidency on Friday, Shettima will join other African and international leaders at the grand finale of activities marking the island nation’s 50th Independence Anniversary.

The celebration will feature official speeches, military parades, cultural displays, and traditional performances showcasing the country’s heritage and unity.
