Traditional rulers in Umuahia North LGA of Abia State have invoked death on kidnappers operating in any part of the local government.
The monarch made the invocation on December 24 during a special prayer session where they poured libation, broke kola nuts and alligator peppers and made declarations against bandits operating in Umuahia North.
Led by Eze Innocent Nwaigwe, the royal fathers proclaimed death upon any kidnapper terrorizing the indigenes of Umuahia North.

The traditional rulers also declared that the local government will witness a peaceful and protected atmosphere throughout the Christmas and New Year periods and beyond prayed for the safety of all indigenes of Umuahia North.
The kings who invoked bees to sting out any kidnapper hiding in any bush in Umuahia North, said the bandits would die or be apprehended live unless they stopped their evil activities.
The Umuahia North Monarchs also prayed for God’s protection and guidance upon Governor Alex Otti, saying that the present administration in Abia State has so far, performed well in security and other areas of leadership.
Speaking after the prayers, Eze Innocent Nwaigwe said the monarchs asked the gods to visit kidnappers with capital punishment unless they quit their evil ways.
In other news, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, highlighted a notable stride in the nation’s ongoing battle against insecurity, revealing that security agencies have successfully curtailed kidnapping incidents, achieving an impressive 80 percent success rate. This announcement underscores a broader commitment to addressing the complex challenges threatening public safety.
While inaugurating the Multi-Agency Kidnap Fusion Cell (MAAKFC) in Abuja on Thursday, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, acknowledged the strides made by security agencies in addressing the menace of kidnapping. He commended their dedication and described their efforts as vital to safeguarding citizens.
Embedded within the National Counter Terrorism Centre and overseen by the Office of the National Security Adviser, the fusion cell operates with crucial assistance from the National Crime Agency in the United Kingdom, showcasing the importance of cross-border collaboration.
“Let me commend the National Coordinator and the dedicated staff of the National Counterterrorism Center for their remarkable efforts. I’m immensely proud of the progress you have made so far.
“We don’t even advertise the work we are doing yet, but I can assure you those who are working, they are making a massive difference in our country today.
