Featuring on Channels TV’s Politics Today, the founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, SPAC Nation, said: “I have never been seen in a night club but in a restaurant with some of my friends.
“I preached my first message at the age of eight and I have been preaching since then.”
Adegboyega has been in the eye of the storm lately following moves to deport him back to Nigeria.
He lost his immigration battle as the UK Tribunal ordered his deportation back to Nigeria.
The court said the pastor arrived in the UK on a visitor’s visa in 2005 and did not leave when it expired.
It held that Adegboyega had sought to remain in the European country on human rights grounds.
The 44-year-old said his motive for flaunting his lifestyle was to help young people believe there are legitimate ways of making money.
The controversial pastor also insisted that he doesn’t benefit from the church’s finances despite being accused of fraud.
In other news, a human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, has told Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, to retire and go home because of his recent controversial statements.
Effiong said that Adeboye’s claim that God stopped the exchange rate skyrocketing to ₦10,000 for $1 is preposterous.
The human rights lawyer insisted that prayers do not have any effect on the exchange rate, maintaining that it is determined by economic and monetary policies, and the productivity of a country.
In a post on his X handle on Saturday, Effiong said: “Pastor Enoch Adeboye should retire and go home. His controversial statements on the state of the nation offends the sensibilities of right thinking members of the society.
“In life, it is always better to know when to exit the stage. The fact that Adeboye is holding brief for this incompetent and oppressive government is a mockery of Christianity.
“Many people in our country have stopped going to Church due to the sickening hypocrisy and connivance of these religious leaders.
