A rocket barrage fired at central Israel on Monday resulted in five people being injured, with one woman in particularly critical condition, according to first responders.

The attack hit suburban areas surrounding Tel Aviv, the commercial center of Israel, and has heightened concerns over the escalating violence. Emergency teams were deployed immediately to attend to the wounded and assess the extent of the damage caused by the strike.

Before the rocket fire, air raid sirens had blared across Tel Aviv and other major cities in central Israel, as reported by the country’s civil defense command. The sirens, a warning of imminent danger, set off a wave of panic as residents rushed to shelters, anticipating the threat that soon materialized in the form of rocket fire.

The military disclosed that it had intercepted a projectile launched from Lebanon, successfully preventing any immediate harm.

Simultaneously, Israeli police received reports of debris from the rocket falling within the Tel Aviv area, fueling concerns over the impact and the ongoing security situation in the region.

Magen David Adom reported that its first responders were quick to evacuate five injured victims to nearby hospitals following the rocket fire that struck the Ramat Gan area, a suburb close to Tel Aviv. The injured were promptly given medical attention as the situation in the region intensified.

AFPTV’s video, shot in Ramat Gan at around 10:00 pm (2000 GMT), revealed a fire burning fiercely on the sidewalk beneath a transmission tower. The surrounding buildings, visibly damaged by the explosion, had windows blown out, painting a stark picture of the violent impact of the rocket attack

Earlier, a spokesman for Israeli firefighters said a rocket strike killed a woman in the northern Israeli town of Shfaram, east of the Haifa area.

The military said Lebanese armed movement Hezbollah, which is backed by Iran, fired around 100 projectiles from Lebanon towards Israel on Monday, while Israel’s air force carried out more deadly strikes on Beirut.

Since September, Israel and Hezbollah have been locked in an escalating conflict, with both sides engaged in intense military confrontations that have resulted in significant casualties and widespread destruction.
