All 24 Qualified Teams Confirmed For AFCON 2025 Competition

All the 24 teams that will play at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations have now been confirmed.

This follows the completion of the qualifying series on Tuesday night.

The last three countries to book their spots are Mozambique, Botswana and Tanzania.

Before today, 21 teams had qualified for the tournament.

They are: Morocco, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Algeria, DR Congo, Senegal, Egypt, Angola, Gabon, Uganda and South Africa.

Others include Nigeria, Benin Republic, Comoros, Sudan, Equatorial Guinea, Cote d’Ivoire, Zimbabwe, Mali, Zambia and Tunisia.

Morocco will host the 2025 AFCON from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.

Nigeria rounded off their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series with a shock 2-1 defeat to Rwanda.

The game was played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.

The Super Eagles came into the game already qualified for next year’s tournament as Group D winners.

And it was the three-time African champions who took the lead in the 59th minute through a fine solo goal from Samuel Chukwueze.

But the Rwandans replied with two quick goals from Ange Mutsinzi and Innocent Nshuti to claim their first ever win over Nigeria.

This is the first defeat under interim manager, Augustine Eguavoen, who might be stepping down from the role.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles confirmed their ticket at the 2025 Africa Cup Nations, AFCON, after Rwanda’s 1-0 loss to Libya on Thursday.

Libya defeated Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Thursday evening.

Fahd Saad Mohamed scored the goal in the 84th minute to silence the entire Rwandan fans in their stadium.
