Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni is expected to be sidelined for approximately one month due to a sprained ankle, the Spanish club confirmed on Wednesday. This injury comes as a blow to the team, with Tchouameni having been an integral part of their midfield this season.

Tchouameni’s sprained ankle may rule him out of key La Liga games against Osasuna, Leganes, Getafe, and Athletic Bilbao. In addition, he is expected to miss the crucial Champions League encounter with Liverpool on November 27, with Spanish media predicting a return to play in December.

Alongside his club commitments, Tchouameni is anticipated to be unavailable for France’s Nations League fixtures against Israel and Italy on November 14 and 17. His injury will likely impact the midfield options for the French national team during these crucial encounters.

“Following tests carried out today by Real Madrid’s medical services on our player Aurelien Tchouameni, he has been diagnosed with a sprained left ankle,” said the club in a statement.

Tchouameni’s injury took place during Real Madrid’s 3-1 Champions League loss to AC Milan on Tuesday, with the midfielder replaced at half-time after sustaining discomfort. The injury added to the team’s woes as they struggled to recover from their deficit against the Italian giants.
