Gov Eno Appoints Daughter As First Lady After Wife’s Demise

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State following the death of his wife has named his daughter, Helen Eno-Obareki, as the Acting First Lady of the state.

Eno had made this disclosure  when Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, paid him a condolence visit in Uyo.

The governor said his daughter would work closely with the state’s deputy governor to ensure the Office of the First Lady continues its duties.

“To maintain the Office of the First Lady and carry forward my late wife’s work, I present our daughter, Helen, to continue the duties of the office.

“She will work closely with the Deputy Governor and the Commissioner for Women’s Affairs and Social Welfare,” the governor said.

Eno expressed his confidence in his daughter’s ability to deliver in the new assignment and sustain her mother’s legacies.

The Eastern Updates has reported that President Bola Tinubu and some state governors have on Saturday mourned the death of the Akwa Ibom State first lady, Mrs. Patience Umo. Eno while also sending in their condolences as well.

Her passage was contained in a government release by the state government.

It was signed by the commissioner for information, Comrade Iniobong Ememobong,

President Bola Tinubu in a statement by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, commiserated with the family, government and the people of Akwa Ibom on the incident and joined them in mourning the state’s first lady.

He described Patience Eno as ordained gospel minister who embodied humility, resilience, and loyalty.

Tinubu’s wife, Remi, also extended condolences to the governor, children, family and people of Akwa Ibom on the death.
