Edo North Senator, Adams Oshiomhole on Saturday has voiced his opinion on the upcoming Edo state elections while also revealing that the embattled Deputy Governor of the state, Philip Shaibu has decamped to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Oshiomhole had opened up that Shaibu decamped to APC due to the frustration he suffered in the hands of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

The senator spoke at UNIBEN during the grand finale of the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship campaign.
He accused Obaseki of diverting funds and allocations from the Federal Government, meant for projects in the state, into his private pocket.
On September 21, the people of Edo State will decide their next governor.
Frontrunners in Saturday’s governorship election are Monday Okpebholo of the APC, Asue Ighodalo of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and Olumide Akpata of the Labour Party, LP.
The Eastern Updates reports that Obaseki and Shaibu had endured a troubled relationship.
The strife led to the impeachment of Shaibu by the Edo State House of Assembly.
But an Appeal Court sitting in Abuja reinstated Shaibu as deputy governor.
Speaking at the campaign ground, Oshiomhole said: “It’s only under Obaseki that his deputy governor had to decamp to APC due to his frustration.
“Obaseki has refused to sign the Peace Accord. They killed the policeman attached to our governor in waiting but Obaseki warned that they should not be arrested.”
In another news, The Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has on Saturday warned that next week’s governorship election in the state is indeed a ‘do-or-die affair’.
Obaseki also gave a stern warning that any form of electoral malpractice from the opposition party would lead to death.
He spoke during a Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, rally in the Ekemwan area of the state.
“The person I took over from had no respect for our people, had no respect for women, encouraged prostitution and women trafficking.
“When I took over office our pensioners wore black on Labour Day buy today they wear white.
“When I took office, our youths had no jobs, but today don’t they have jobs? After eight years is Edo not one of the safest in Nigeria?
“This election is a do or die, if they do, we will die. Next week Saturday by this time, vote for PDP to become the next governor.”
On Saturday, September 21, the people of Edo State will file out to vote for the next governor of the state.
