To root out banditry in Tureta and nearby villages, the Sokoto State Government has embarked on an innovative approach, approving the construction of the Tureta-Gidan Kare road to increase accessibility and facilitate security operations in the area.
As Governor Ahmed Aliyu continues his marathon tour of Sokoto State’s local governments, he made a stop in Tureta on Monday, using the platform to reveal a key component of his comprehensive approach to eradicating banditry.
According to him, the road, when completed, will provide security agencies with easy access to the forests that serve as hideouts for bandits in the area.
“As a government, we are committed to providing all that is necessary to make our local communities safe and free from any security challenges.
“Rest assured, we will spend our last kobo to guarantee the safety of the lives and property of our people.
“We are deeply concerned by the heinous acts of banditry in our dear state, and we are taking further measures to end the menace, Insha Allah,” he vowed.
