Kalu Receives 600 New APC Members From Rival Parties

Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu has welcomed a wave of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party and Labor Party in Bende Federal Constituency into the All Progressives Congress, bolstering the party’s ranks and signaling a potential new era of cooperation.

According to a statement issued by Levinus Nwabughiogu, Chief Press Secretary to Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, the latter’s recent ward-to-ward tour of Bende Federal Constituency culminated in a major political coup, as a diverse group of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party, Labour Party, Young People’s Party, and All Progressives Grand Alliance officially joined the All Progressives Congress.

Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu took to the podium at Umuhu Ezechi ward to convey his sincere gratitude to the people for entrusting him with their vote in the 2023 general election.

In the same breath, he exhorted the audience to maintain their unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has demonstrated his commitment to regional development by enacting the South East Development Commission bill.

The Deputy Speaker explained that the South East Development Commission will have a transformative impact on the region, fostering employment and driving infrastructure development.

As he was welcomed with colorful traditional dances, Kalu showed his appreciation by distributing vital resources, including bags of rice, fertilizers, and cash donations, to various segments of the community, comprising youth, women, and men.

In addition to his visit to Umuhu Ezechi ward, Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu also stopped by Ozuitem ward, where he was greeted with another wave of defections from the Labour Party, Peoples Democratic Party, All Progressives Grand Alliance, and Young People’s Party, all of whom officially joined the All Progressives Congress.

Kalu, who also distributed bags of rice and fertilizers and cash gifts to the people to support them in agriculture, implored them to continue supporting President Tinubu and the APC. And assured them of more dividends of democracy.
