Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke shook things up on Wednesday, announcing the suspension of his trusted adviser, Emmanuel Adebisi, who had been serving as Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies.
The governor’s office remained tight-lipped on the motive behind the suspension, with a statement from spokesperson Olawale Rasheed offering no insight into the reasons behind the sudden move.
The governor’s office has tapped Chief of Staff Kazeem Akinleye to oversee a thorough inquiry into the matter, with a focus on uncovering all relevant facts and presenting a full report to inform the governor’s subsequent decisions.
“The Governor has also directed immediate suspension of the Senior Special Assistant on Civil Societies, Emmanuel Adebisi, pending outcome of investigations by the Chief of Staff to the State Governor, Kazeem Akinleye,” the statement read.
On Wednesday, Adebisi broke his silence on the suspension, posting a revealing message on Facebook that seemed to shed light on the circumstances surrounding his removal from office.

The suspended aide took to Facebook to clear his name, dismissing claims of rice embezzlement and asserting his continued loyalty to the Adeleke administration, despite his sudden removal from office.
The post read, “It has come to my attention that recent reports circulating in the media regarding I Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel, Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Civil Societies, are misleading and untrue.
“The claims suggesting I, Emmanuel Adebisi, has been suspended and removed from a WhatsApp group are categorically false.
“I continue to serve diligently in my capacity as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor of Osun State, with an unwavering commitment to my responsibilities.
“Any insinuation of my involvement in misconduct, particularly relating to the alleged diversion of 70 bags of rice intended for Osun Civil Societies during the Eid-el-Kabir festival, is entirely baseless and without merit and the handwork of some bitter political fools, and I challenge anyone with fact on this to bring it out.
“I, Comrade Adebisi Emmanuel remain an integral part of the Osun Government team and continue to uphold the highest standards of integrity and service. We urge the media and the public to disregard the misinformation being circulated and refrain from spreading unsubstantiated claims that could tarnish the reputation of dedicated public servants.”
