Man Stabs Wife To Death Over Alleged Infidelity In Imo

A yet-to-be-identified man has allegedly stabbed his wife over suspicions of infidelity in Nekede, Owerri West Local Government Area, Imo State leaving the members of the community stunned. 

The incident came to light after a viral video showed the man attacking his wife with a knife.

The Eastern Updates gathered that the man was alerted by a neighbour on April 10th that his wife was engaging in an extramarital affair in their matrimonial home.

The husband rushed home and caught his wife with her lover in their bedroom while their six-year-old daughter was left alone in the living room.

In a fit of rage, the husband attacked his wife with a knife, leaving her severely injured. Her lover was allowed to leave the scene unharmed.

Reacting to the incident yesterday, the Imo State Police Command appealed to the public, especially residents of Nekede, to come forward with any useful information.

The command’s spokesperson, Henry Okoye, said: “The Imo State Police Command is aware of the video circulating on social media and wishes to state that the alleged incident has not been officially reported to the police.

However, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aboki Danjuma, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct a thorough investigation into this disturbing incident and ascertain the facts.

In another report, Owerri, the capital of Imo State, was rocked by tragedy on Friday morning as a fatal road collision occurred on the vital Owerri-Onitsha Expressway, resulting in numerous casualties.

Information obtained by The Eastern Updates indicates that a group of individuals from the Lord’s Chosen Church were caught up in a collision as their upscale bus collided with a Tipper truck.

It’s been reported that the church members were on their way to Owerri for a weekend crusade when the unfortunate incident took place.

A witness, who preferred to remain anonymous, informed the press that at least 20 members of the church were feared deceased in the crash.
