NSCDC Raids Illegal Oil Bunkering Site In Abia

The Special Intelligence Squad (SIS) of the Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi has confirmed that it has successfully raided an illegal refinery site in Abia State.

In a tweet on its X, an NSCDC official confirmed they raided the illegal bunkering site located at Ubeaku Waterside in Ukwa East Local Government Area of the state.

The Commandant’s Special Intelligence Squad during the raid destroyed cooking pots, tanks and drums.

The statement by the agency has it that over 22,000 liters of Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) were destroyed in the raid.

The Eastern reports that the NSCDC Special Intelligence Squad also uncovered and raided massive illegal oil bunkering sites where they arrested 5 suspects in Rivers State as well.

In another report, a 13- year old boy, Goodluck Onwe has been rescued by operatives of the NSCDC in Enugu State.

NSCDC Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, Okadigbo Edwin, in a statement, said the victim was rescued while wandering the streets of Abakaliki.

He said the victim had since been reunited with his family in Anambra State.

According to him: “The little boy was seen wandering the streets of Abakaliki before he w8as rescued on the 4th of February, 2024 at about 1300hrs by operatives of NSCDC Ebonyi State Command.

“Investigation reveals that the said boy stays with a relative in Abakaliki but ran away from home with an intent to return to his parents who resides at Peter Okonkwo Street Aguleri, Anambra East LGA, Anambra State.
