Some yet-to-be-identified Gunmen have murdered the 2023 House of Representatives candidate from Anambra State, Jude Oguejiofor.
Oguejiofor hailed from Orsumoghu in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra but lived most parts of his life in Nnewi in Nnewi North Local Government Area.
The Eastern Updates reports that Oguejiofor, a lawyer, contested for the Ihiala Federal Constituency House of Representatives seat in the 2023 general elections under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Sources told reporters that the politician was abducted around 1 am, some days ago, alongside his brother, by some gunmen.

The incident happened in the Orsumoghu Community, where they had gone to see their aged parents.
But the gunmen later released his brother, a medical doctor resident overseas, unhurt.
A source close to the family, who asked not to be named, said that the gunmen accused Oguejiofor of writing petitions against them and their activities in the community.
“They said he had been writing petitions against them to the Anambra State Government,” the source said.
As at the time of filing this report, there was no official reaction from the Anambra State Police command, but a police officer who spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the development.
Meanwhile, reports reaching the desk of The Eastern Updates has it that the father of Oguejiofor has slumped and died, minutes after he heard that abductors had killed his son.
Oguejiofor and his brother, a medical doctor, were ambushed and abducted on their way to see their parents on Sunday.
The Eastern Updates gathered from reliable sources that the medical doctor was released later. However, while family members were making efforts to bargain for his release, the kidnappers contacted them and informed them of the lawyer’s demise.
