S’Court Verdict: Time To Settle Down To Rebuild Abia – Otti

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti has asserted that he will now settle down and rebuild  because he has no other distractions after the Supreme Court affirmed his victory in the 2023 general elections.

Otti made the declaration on Saturday at a Thanksgiving Service held at the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA), Eastern Union Conference Headquarters at Abayi Umueze in Osisioma local government area (LGA).

“Now that the distractions are over; now that the storm is over, I will settle down and rebuild Abia,” he pledged.

He claimed that he ran for office three times due to the embarrassment he felt whenever someone questioned him about the state of the union.

According to him, many people lost hope in his chances of becoming governor because he won the election on two occasions but his mandate was stolen.

“We have been through this journey and today we are here as the Supreme Court has confirmed that we won the election,” he added.

He thanked the church for honouring him and encouraged the people to continue believing in God’s power to do all things.

Earlier, the President, West/Central African Division of the SDA Church, Dr Robert Osei-Bonsu, charged the church to be united if it must achieve its purpose.

In a related development Ebonyi State, the government has hailed the ruling of the apex Court in Nigeria which affirmed the victory of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of the All Progressives Congress.

The Eastern Updates reports that the Court in its ruling on Friday dismissed the appeal by the Governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Ifeanyi Odii for lacking in merit.
