The Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) conducted a decoration ceremony on Thursday at the Enugu Maximum Custodial Centre, Enugu, honoring 42 newly promoted officers.
Among the newly decorated personnel were an Assistant Controller of Corrections, alongside other officers, and individuals within the rank and file.
The custodial centre’s officer in charge, Sunday Oyakhire, implored the officers who were promoted to justify their advancements by recommitting themselves to exceptional and conscientious service.
Mr. Oyakhire praised the Interior Minister, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the Controller-General of Corrections, Haliru Nababa, and the Controller of Corrections in Enugu, Nicholas Obiako, for their efforts in promoting a considerable number of personnel in the centre.
‘I advise those who missed the promotion to exercise a little patience and, by the grace of God, you too will be smiling with your new ranks very soon,’ stated Mr Oyakhire.
