APGA: Soludo Meets With Obiano Appointees, Douses Tension

Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo has convoked a meeting of a mammoth crowd of appointees of his predecessor, Chief Willie Obiano after their murmurings and protests of neglect reached its crescendo.

Since their tenure ended, the appointees—the precise number of whom is unknown—had complained about mistreatment and unpaid severance benefits.

But Soludo called a meeting to try to work out a peaceful solution to the problems related to their sense of desertion and abandonment.

The meeting which was held at Dora Akunyili Women’s Development Centre, the Governor reminded them that he also served as an appointee under the former regime and that his decision to convene the meeting was due to his empathetic disposition towards everyone, including the poor, down-trodden and the forgotten.

He explained that his government, especially the APGA administration has continued to demonstrate and churn out policies that will create positive outcomes for the less privileged in Anambra communities.

This, he said, was to address the issues bordering the state. He promised to look into their concerns and find a lasting solution to them.

Governor Soludo urged those of them who still believe in the APGA message, to remain patient as his administration was committed to addressing the challenges facing ndị Anambra, using the five pillars, as much as finances would allow.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim explained that being a former political appointee under the former regime, he was a part of the reunion meeting where he realized the importance of informing the Governor about the gathering.

A Former member of the National Assembly, Chief Chinedu Obidigwe noted that Governor Soludo is performing beyond expectations, less than two years into his administration, and canvassed support for him by all and sundry.

Among those in attendance were: Secretary to the State Government, Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi State Chairman of APGA, Barr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, and Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Matters, Dr. Alex Obiogbolu, among others.
