Unemployment: PFN Trains 500 Anambra Youths On Various Skills

Reports reaching the desk of The Eastern Updates has it that Anambra State Chapter of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, (PFN) has completed training for 500 beneficiaries of its skills’ acquisition programme.

Governor Chukwuma Soludo who attended the graduation ceremony seized the opportunity of the occasion to rededicate the Jesus Our Physician Hospital, (JOPH), Amawbia.

Bishop Moses Ezedebego who is the State Chairman of PFN, assured of sustaining partnership and laudable initiatives of the state government.

The PFN Coordinator for Training, Ethical and Value Reorientation and Skill Acquisition Initiative, Mark Odogwu, pointing out that the PFN project is a replica of Anambra State Government’s ‘One Youth, Two Skills Initiative’

Gov Charles Soludo at the occasion awarded N50 million to the 500 beneficiaries.

The cash award by the state government gives support to the start-up grant already offered by the programme.

Gov Soludo emphasized that the goal of his administration is to have a state with zero poverty, assuring of greater access to funding from cooperatives.

In another report, no fewer than four persons were badly injured when a truck carrying a 40-foot container rammed into the Asaba Motor Park, near Oguta Road, by Upper Iweka in Onitsha, Anambra State on Saturday.

The Eastern Updates gathered that the incident happened around 11.15 am on Saturday morning.

According to eyewitnesses at the motor park, the truck driver was going towards the River Niger Bridge before the vehicle suddenly developed brake failure.

The sources revealed that while the driver was controlling the brake failure, the vehicle veered off the road and crashed into the motor park.

The truck was said to hit over 10 vehicles, including a Toyota Sienna, commercial buses and tricycles, before finally crashing into the wall of the motor park.
