The Imo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship Campaign Council has alleged that Governor Hope Uzodinma of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has instructed his aides to initiate an ‘Operation Show Your PVC’ campaign as a prerequisite for accessing the ongoing fuel subsidy removal relief.
In response to the accusation, Enyinnaya Onuegbu, the Special Adviser on politics, dismissed it as ‘falsehood from the pit of hell.’
According to a press statement issued and endorsed by Dr. Ikenna Onuoha, the Director, Media and Publicity, Imo PDP (Sam-Jones) Governorship Campaign Council ‘So far, Uzodimma is said to have released the remaining palliatives to Sole Administrators, Commissioners, Special Advisers, and other appointees of his government with stern directive to distribute same to only those with Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) who should be APC members. What this means is that, Imo citizens who are members of other political parties like Labour Party, APGA, SDP, NNPP, PDP and others cannot partake’ he alleged.
Onuoha continued his claims, stating that the unfolding scenario is not just worrisome but also deviates from the Federal Government’s distribution guidelines. He maintained that Governor Uzodimma’s administration, in its pursuit of Shared Prosperity, exhibits an unwarranted level of pettiness and vindictiveness.

Onuegbu advised the campaign council to center their efforts on substantive matters and refrain from propagating false claims that could have negative consequences. Onuegbu pointed out that the citizens of Imo are astute enough to differentiate between fact and fiction.
But the PDP Governorship Media and Campaign Council Director, stressed that, ‘as an entity that believes in the rule of law, what Uzodimma and APC are presently doing in the state has confirmed the insinuation that the prevalent hunger, starvation and anguish experienced by Imo people now and in the past are deliberately orchestrated by APC government in the state’.
However, the PDP Governorship Media and Campaign Council Director, stressed that, ‘as an entity that believes in the rule of law, what Uzodimma and APC are presently doing in the state has confirmed the insinuation that the prevalent hunger, starvation and anguish experienced by Imo people now and in the past are deliberately orchestrated by APC government in the state’.
He fervently implored Imo State voters to decline the purported generous offer, contending that it is designed to reveal their private identification numbers in exchange for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) in anticipation of the upcoming November 11th gubernatorial election.
