Tragedy struck in Imo State as unknown gunmen stormed and executed deadly attacks, resulting in the loss of three lives in the communities of Orogwe and Irete, both located in Owerri West Local Government Area.
The development was confirmed by an eyewitness who spoke to the press in Owerri, stating that the attacks occurred in multiple locations during the early part of this week.
He mentioned that the attack was directed at a former Enugu Psychiatrist Director, widely known as Jojo, and his vehicle was forcefully taken. The motive behind the attack was supposedly connected to the sit-at-home order declared by Simon Ekpa in the South-East.
The bystander said: ‘It’s sad the people of Ndegwu and Orogwe, both communities in Owerri West no longer sleep with their two eyes closed. On Wednesday, two people were killed at Orogwe, while one was killed at Ndegwu by same attackers.’
‘A former Enugu Psychiatrist director had his vehicle snatched last Monday.’

Reacting, the Imo State Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, said: ‘I am yet to receive an official report on the above cases.’
