Why Abaribe Will Be Sacked By Appeal Court – LP Candidate

Listen to article

Mr. Uchenna Onyeizu who is the candidate of the Labour Party in the 25th February Abia South Senatorial contest, has finally filed his case at the Court of Appeal, Owerri, seeking to be declared the winner of the election.

In the case which was filed yesterday at the Owerri Division of the Appellate Court, the LP candidate, Onyeizu maintained that he defeated Senator Abaribe of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), during the election.

He also frowned at the earlier decision of Panel 1 of the National Assembly election petitions tribunal sitting in Umuahia which dismissed his petition on technicalities, instead of attending to the merits of his case.

‘The decision of the Panel is totally unacceptable to me because I am so convinced that I defeated Senator Abaribe,’ he said while appealing to his supporters to remain calm and await the outcome of his Appeal Court case.

The Eastern Updates recalls that Onyeizu caused a storm during one of the Panel’s sessions by claiming that he did not have confidence in the Panel, alleging that the Panel was already compromised.

Abaribe in a recent video clip described his victory as a narrow escape following the Peter Obi ‘Tsunami’ in the region.

It was a nice election and was going normally until we saw the OBIDATTI wave in the South-East and it almost consumed everybody and it showed me the love that our people have for me because I was able to survive that wave,’ Senator Abaribe disclosed.

The Eastern Updates understands the Obidient Movement has since been making waves in the country with some analysts ascribing their feat to the growing popularity of Labour Party (LP) flag-bearer, Peter Obi among the young people craving for a better government.
