Evang. Chinedu Obigwe who is the National Coordinator of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Media Warriors Forum, has berated those spreading rumours of insecurity in Anambra State insisting that Anambra of today is very well secured under the result-oriented leadership of Governor Chukwuma Soludo.
Obigwe spoke in Awka on Saturday against the backdrop of the pandemonium that ensued in different parts of the state on Friday over the rumoured attack by unknown gunmen enforcing the one-week sit-at-home order by the Simon Ekpa-led group of Biafra agitators.
He pointed out that a lot has really changed in Anambra State for good recalling that when people talk about insecurity in the state, it reminds him of the fact that Governor Soludo was once a victim of gunmen attack prior to the governorship elections but he was undeterred by the incident as he rather went ahead to confront the situation after his swearing-in.
He said the first thing Governor Soludo tackled on assumption of office was the problem of insecurity noting that as at the time he came into office, the story of unknown gunmen killings was like a daily occurrence but as of today, people hardly hear news of such killings again in the state.
He said Soludo took the battle to the doorsteps of the killers while nobody would have ever believed that the criminals that masqueraded as unknown gunmen will today resort to scaremongering tactics and spread of propaganda to frighten people.
‘The undisputed truth as at today is that the reasonable opposition party members are confessing that Governor Soludo is working in all sectors of governance to transform our state. But on the part of the disgruntled opposition elements, they are behind the fabricated stories of insecurity in Anambra State because they want to use such fabricated stories for campaign in 2025.
‘As for the reality on ground, Anambra is now more secured than before. You can hardly commit crime in the state and go scot-free because Governor Soludo’s water-tight security architecture is always on guard watching over the state and the good people of Anambra. More grease to the elbows of our beloved Governor Soludo,’ he said
