Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi has advised Governor Alex Otti of Abia State not to abuse the privilege God has given him by making him Governor, urging him to work for Abia people.

He spoke at the special thanksgiving service organised at Umuahia, on Sunday where he called on Otti to always consider the poor and downtrodden in his policies and programmes.

He added that pensioners, civil servants, and others should feel the positive impact of his governance, expressing worry that Nigeria’s leadership is still in the hands of the wrong people.

Otti, who re-assured Abians of better days, and his determination to work for them, said the thanksgiving service was organised to appreciate God for a successful election in the state and his inauguration as governor.

Otti said: ‘Abians will soon rejoice as my administration will lift the poor masses out of poverty. I thank the governorship candidates of some opposition parties in the state for supporting me, and I also call on others that are in the tribunal with me to sheath their sword and join in the task of re-building Abia.’

In another report, Governor Otti had last week announced the appointment of 22 Special Advisers as he shapes up his administration.
