The Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi has appealed to candidates of the party running for House of Assembly seats to brace up for victory and work for the overall interest of the state.

The Eastern Updates reports that Obi made this known when he held, held a closed-door meeting with the house of assembly candidates in Awka.

Speaking with journalists after the closed-door meeting, Obi said he had charged the candidates to victory, while also charging them to ensure they work with the state governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo when they attain victory.

Obi was reacting to a video where the Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo had said that he will not work with members of other political parties, who emerge in the House of Assembly.

‘We are not urging anyone to impeach any other person. We held a meeting with our assembly members, and we are calling on Nigerians to vote for Labour Party.

‘We are not asking anyone to impeach anyone. People should not be afraid of impeachment. We only seek to get things right in Nigeria.’

Similarly, the Senator-elect for Anambra Central Senatorial Zone, Senator Victor Umeh, has tackled the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and its administration in the state for begging the people of Anambra State to vote for APGA candidates for the Saturday State Assembly when they fought against the election of Mr. Peter Obi who still won in the state during the presidential election.

Senator Umeh who described the action of APGA leadership and that of Prof.Chukwuma Soludo-led government against the candidacy of Mr. Obi as the height of sabotage said that APGA administration as led by Prof. Soludo has no moral justification to seek votes for the candidates of APGA with whom he allegedly sabotaged the election Mr. Obi in the just concluded presidential election.
