IGP Sets Panel Over Alleged Extrajudicial Killings In Anambra

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Baba Akali Usman has launched an investigation into cases of alleged unprofessionalism, high-handedness, and extra-judicial killings on the part of some officers serving at the zone 13 command located in Ukpa-Dunukofia of Anambra state. 

The officers under special investigations are CSP Patrick Agbazue, in-charge of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Anambra State Command; SP Nwode Nkeiruka, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo-Dunukofia, and Inspector Harrison Akama attached to the RRS.

The Eastern Updates gathered that the affected officers had reported yesterday (Friday) at the Force Headquarters, Louis Edet House, Abuja.

However, the FPRO, Olumuyiwa Adejobi who disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja added that the police boss directed the panel two weeks to conclude investigations and report back to him.

However, the IGP has enjoined any member of the public who has had experiences or information on acts of high-handedness, extortion, or extra-judicial killings by the officers in question, to forward same with detailed information via mobile number 08036242591, or by email via [email protected], [email protected] to enable the panel to achieve a wholistic investigation.
